Too Faced The Return of Sexy Palette Review + Swatches

Hi Guys!

Helping you to bring the return of your own sexiness, Too Faced has The Return of Sexy Palette. When my eyes first laid on this palette, I saw glamour and glitter and that was enough to sell me! I was able to vision so many fun, full out glamorous and over-the-top sexy makeup looks that were anxiously waiting to be created.

Price: $54 CAD at Sephora

The Return of Sexy comes packed with 15 irresistible shades to wear, a full sized black Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eye Liner, a mini Shadow Insurance Primer and three makeup tutorial cards with ways to achieve a sexy, smoldering look! All of the shades are very shimmery and some have glitter, which may or may not be desired depending on what formula you prefer. You can use them dry or wet to spice things up and really bring out the sexiness ;)

The Ingenue Set
Naive: Shimmery creamy white
Ingenue: Shimmery medium golden brown with gold glitter
Innocent: Shimmery light caramel brown
New in Town: Shimmery light gold
Casting Couch: Shimmery dark golden brown

L-R: Naive, Ingenue, Innocent, New in Town, Casting Couch

This set of browns was a stunner and help brighten up the eyes and makes them look all dazzled and dressed up for day or night. The darker shades swatched better than Naive and New in Town only because there wasn't a primer or base used underneath. They pack much more pigment when layered on top of a neutral base or if you use the Shadow Insurance Primer!

The Icon Set
Pink Diamond: Matte light creamy pink
Icon: Shimmery light rosy purple with gold glitter
Divorcee: Shimmery medium greyish taupe
Hopeless Romantic: Shimmery medium pinkish-purple
Primadonna: Shimmery dark purple

L-R: Pink Diamond, Icon, Divorcee, Hopeless Romantic, Primadonna

The Icon set can be used for that perfect pop of shimmery colour. The purples are so vibrant and intense and swatched well without a base. Pink Diamond and Icon are very soft colours when you apply them without a base but look more vivid with one. Icon, however, did have a bit more fallout than the others. My favourite colours out of this set are Hopeless Romantic because it reminds me of an Urban Decay shade I love and Primadonna because it is such a beautifully deep and intense purple!

The Bombshell Set
7 Year Itch: Shimmery white
Bombshell: Shimmery medium silver
Hollywood: Shimmery dark charcoal silver
Maneater: Shimmery rose gold
Beautymark: Matte black with silvery glitter

L-R: 7 Year Itch, Bombshell, Hollywood, Maneater, Beautymark

It's obvious that these colours are named after the timeless bombshell Marilyn Monroe and I can definitely picture her wearing them! All of the colours applied fabulously except for 7 year itch. Working with that shade was the most difficult out of all of the colours in the palette. A primer or even a white base (like NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil) helps to bring out more colour but it's still quite soft and mainly shows the shimmer. Maneater was an interesting addition to the palette because it's a very pretty rosy gold and can be used with basically either of the other sets.

The Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eye Liner in Perfect Black is a really nice, creamy and opaque jet black. The texture of it doesn't tug at my skin and is a comfortable waterproof liner to wear, which I tend to normally stay away from. I especially like using it on my lower lash/water line and love that it's full sized and I can get a lot of use out of something regular sized rather than a mini which never last long for me!

If you're a fan of shimmer and glitter, this is a palette worth buying. If you're not a fan of something with a lot of glitz, then you may not like this palette. Anyone with more mature skin would not like this palette because there is a lot of shimmer and glitter that easily settle into fine lines. I have the best experience with applying these shadows by applying them before I put on my foundation. I keep a face wipe and some tape handy after I'm done to pick up the fall out that a brush can't take away. If you're into a bold palette, like I am, Return of Sexy is quite the palette that really delivers just that!

Have you checked out the Return of Sexy palette? What do you think?!

Hugs, Kisses & Glitter,

Kelly
